The Metalian Maxi and Genie are our most popular trailers. However, as we make our way out of winter (and as we inch closer and closer to camping season), we thought it was time to reintroduce the Bowhunter. Customers often ask us what the size difference is between the Bowhunter and the Genie. Instead of throwing some numbers at you, I'll explain the difference in size and vibe like this; If the Metalian Genie is a Suzuki Jiminy, then the Bowhunter is a Mitsubishi Pajero SWB. Both are hardy and ready for any overlanding adventure, but they have different strengths. If you're thinking about buying a trailer and struggling to make a decision, it might be worthwhile to ask yourself if your a Jiminy guy or a Mitsubishi guy.

So what do you need to know before buying a Bowhunter?

1. What license do I need for a Metalian Bowhunter? You’ll need an EB license to tow a Bowhunter. Its registered GVM is 1,250 kg, which is above the 750 kg limit for a standard Code B license.

2. How much does a Metalian Bowhunter weigh? The Bowhunter has a tare weight of approximately 650 kg, depending on its final specification. Its maximum GVM is 1,250 kg, giving you additional capacity for your camping equipment and accessories.

3. What fridge fits in a Metalian Bowhunter? The fridge compartment is designed around a 60-litre National Luna fridge. It'll depend on what nosecone you take. If you have another model in mind, we recommend checking with us to confirm whether it will fit.

4. How does the Bowhunter compare to the Parthian? Both are great options! But the Bowhunter is the smaller and more compact option. Interestingly, they share the same overall length, while the Bowhunter is shorter in height. The Bowhunter has a 1,250 kg GVM, compared with the Parthian’s 1,600 kg, making the Bowhunter a good choice if keeping things compact is a priority.

5. Is the Metalian Bowhunter worth it? If you’re looking for a compact off-road trailer, that offers a little more space than the Genie, the Bowhunter is your adventure buddy of choice.
